Native American Day

The third grade at Wellman Elementary studied Native American tribes and wrote research papers. Many chose to create a PowerPoint presentation to accompany the reports. Others made things like a replica of the home or clothing to present their information. March 6th, we had a celebration day. The students made crafts like a dream catcher, a paper sack vest, and created sand art. We had many wonderful parent and community volunteers to help. David and his mom, Kayla demonstrated a traditional Sioux dance. Kayla discussed her heritage and answered questions as well.
