From Mr. Poock...

WE Families:  Please remember that the deadline for our Fall 2016 Walk-a-Thon isTUESDAYSeptember 27th.  All students who submit an envelope with at least $25.00 will be entered into a drawing for an iPad!  Also, anyone raising more than $10.00 is eligible for a drawing for a $20.00 gift card.  Our goal is that every student raises at least $25.00.  This will be our only fall fundraiser.  We hope that many of you return your envelopes bytomorrow so you are eligible for our drawings!  Every student who participates in our Walk-a-Thon will receive a Wellman Elementary Water Bottle!!!  The Walk-a-Thon is scheduled forWednesdayOctober 5th in the afternoon.

Also, we have a new date for the playground.  Playground equipment is scheduled now forOctober 13 to be set up again.  The installation of the safe surface tiles will occur as soon as the playground equipment is all set back up.  We only have a few more weeks!  Our students have been patient...but we can't wait for them to have playground equipment again!

Thank you and enjoy the beautiful fall weather!

Practicing Routines

Today we practiced being a good listener.

We reviewed rules and expectations for listening to each other as well as the teacher.

Working with 3A was fun. The students interacted to learn each others' names as well as practicing their addition skills.
Cooperation, collaboration, and fun today with friends!

Reader's theater

We practiced reading a play called, "Our New Home," which is about a family that immigrates to the Unites States from Poland. We performed to Ms. Busch's 4th grade and the office (Ms. Miller, Mr. Poock, and Mr. Kleese). The students increase their fluency using expression and rate of speed with reader's theater.
